ZOANTHID/ PALYTHOA CARE
Lighting
Zoas/Palys do best in low/medium light, they can thrive in 50-200 PAR but also do well in higher light if acclimated properly. They rely on zooxanthellae for their nutrition so proper lighting is a must. Always start at the bottom of the tank and slowly move them up the rock work over time.
Flow
Low to Medium flow
Diet
Zoas/Palys are photosynthetic and will feed off the lighting you provide. Target or broadcast feeding is not needed.
Placement
Zoas/Palys do well just about anywhere in the tank as long as acclimated to high lighting slowly over time. Most are fast growing and can and will overgrow other corals. We recommend attaching them to free standing rock to control them.

LPS CORALS
LPS CARE
Lighting
LPS corals can thrive under a wide variety of lighting. Most commonly between 50-150 PAR. Safe practice is to start them low and slowly move them up, this gives them time to acclimate to the new lighting. Some species may require high lighting
Flow
Medium flow is recommended to ensure they are receiving enough nutrients from the water and to keep detritus from settling on them, which they are prone to.
Diet
As they are photosynthetic, most of their diet will come from your lighting . they do benefit from target feeding as well. Mysis shrimp is a proven favorite.
Placement
Mid to bottom tank is the prime location for LPS corals. Keep a good distance between other corals as most LPS corals have large sweeper tentacles that will sting others
CARE LEVEL - INTERMEDIATE

SPS CARE
Lighting
SPS corals require high lighting. They seem to do best between 250-350 PAR.
Flow
SPS love strong flow and also will benefit from random flow patterns.
Diet
They will get some of their food photosynthetically but Phytoplankton and Zooplankton spot feeding is recommended.
Placement
Mid to top of tank. Make sure you leave room for them to grow upwards and branch out.
